STOP THE ROT CONFERENCE ANNOUNCED!

The British Aviation Preservation Council is holding a Stop the Rot National Conference at the Rolls-Royce Learning & Career Development Centre, Derby on 4 October.

With the theme ‘Harnessing the power of volunteers to make the impossible possible’, the conference will include adopting best practice in volunteer management, case studies where volunteers have made a difference and fundraising to support aircraft preservation.  The fee is £30.   Contact johnking899@btinternet.com

OUR SPRING SEMINAR – A REMINDER!

There has already been great interest  in our spring event!

ABTEM  is holding a seminar exploring current developments in volunteering titled: “Volunteers in a Changing Environment” to be held at STEAM: Museum of the GWR, Swindon on Wednesday 30th April. Topics to be covered will include: change management, legal issues, valuing volunteers, recruitment, training, and health & safety.

We look forward to sharing a day of good practice for volunteers working in museums with transport and engineering collections.
