PRISM Fund 2016/17 Now Open In England & Wales

The PRISM Fund, which helps to support the acquisition and conservation of heritage objects from the fields of science, technology, industry and medicine, is now open for applications.

Since its inception, the Fund has helped hundreds of non-national museums and preservation groups in England and Wales acquire or conserve thousands of objects of industrial or scientific importance. All fields of science and industry are eligible, including natural history, medicine, engineering and geology.


The maximum grant amount for projects is £20,000, with a match funding requirement of at least 10%. PRISM is open to museums, archives and charitable groups in England and Wales and supports a huge range of objects, including medical instruments, boats, steam engines, archives, trams, agricultural equipment and more.

Applicants to the PRISM Fund do not have to be Accredited organisations but they do need to have charitable purposes and exist for the public benefit. Rather than funding…

Job Vacancy: Museum Manager, Dundee

The Dundee Museum of Transport Trust (DMoTT) is a charitable organisation that currently operates Dundee Museum of Transport at Market Mews, Dundee.

The DMoTT wishes to appoint a Museum Manager for a 12 month fixed term contract with a potential of a further extension for another 12 months. This is an exciting opportunity to take a central role in both managing the operation of the current premises, and being involved in bringing the Trust forward to MGS accreditation.

You will report to the Board, and will use your excellent interpersonal skills to work alongside both the Board and volunteers to ensure that visitors have a high quality experience at Market Mews. You will be expected to manage the day to day operations of the museum, aid in the progression towards MGS accreditation, and support the board and volunteers.


A recognised and relevant qualification together with relevant experience is essential.
